AVRO AICA Award

what: design for a new bi-annual award
client : AICA, Netherlands branch of the International Association of Art Critics

mannschaft designed the new, bi-annual award for the dutch branch of AICA: Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art. This award was presented to AVRO, the oldest of the dutch broadcasting corporations, in the Stedelijk Museum on December 2, 2010. AVRO receives this award for their achievement and excellence in cultural television programs that reach a broad audience, yet dare to explore rougher areas of the arts as well. That’s a long sentence for telling you they do not only produce everybody’s favorite roadshow ‘Tussen Kunst & Kitsch’ (like ‘The Antiques Roadshow’ on BBC) but make many more interesting and innovative television programs. Also, they broadcast wonderful documentaries about artists from all over the word. Hat for AVRO!

If you want to read the original AICA web post you can do that here (in dutch). And this is the text of the official ‘laudatio’ by Martijn van Nieuwenhuyzen (in dutch).
