we’re happy to see this website going live for architect Mathieu Derckx. the design we came up with is simple but allows for an interesting visual arrangement of images through the clever use of masks. parts of images can be masked and are lined up next to each other and thus make up visually arresting pages. the basic shapes that create the masks are shown in the very first image of this post. it’s a bit like architecture in a browser window. This year SICA, the Dutch Center for International Cultural Activities, launches four Cultural Exchange websites that profile and facilitate cultural exchanges between the Netherlands and other countries.

we were asked to develop an identity for the Creative Amsterdam 2011 conference, Open Studio Night and Creative Amsterdam Award, including logos and website elements.
the basic idea behind the identity is that the conference functions like a hub, it’s like an airport terminal with planes docking on and off.

for Ernst van der Hoeven we designed a subtle, refined identity a while ago, and now we’re pleased to announce that his website is online as well. the site features a similar design and has beautiful photographs of his works that can also be viewed full-screen and in motion on iDevices.

the new website for the Friends of The Dutch Opera (Vrienden van De Nederlandse Opera) launched today. De Nederlandse Opera is located in Amsterdam and is dedicated to promoting dramatic musical arts in the Netherlands.

this client came to us with a specific goal: to create an easy-to-use website for the Opera’s membership group that could live along side their partner websites: Het Muziektheater, Het Nationale Ballet, and of course, De Nederlandse Opera itself. the site needed to speak to the drama and beauty of the opera while being timeless enough that it wouldn’t require an update for a significant period of time.

in addition to the design, mannschaft was responsible for the information architecture for the dual-language site. we worked with Mo Veld for the Dutch text and Jonathan Reeder for the English translation. for the backend functionality, we worked with Dynora, who previously developed the site for Het Muziektheater.

voordekunst is a crowdfunding platform for the arts initiated by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst. mannschaft was tasked with creating an integrated identity system, designing their micro-patronage website, and developing a compelling campaign to help educate potential donors, companies and partner funds about the new platform.

the identity system was designed with the website in mind - we liked the idea that the logo itself could immediately indicate a project’s progress to the viewer, while the color system marks the stage the project is in. green for projects in the funding stage, pink for projects in danger of ending without being funded, and yellow for projects with 100% of the funds needed to proceed.

in addition to the website (which we posted about previously), we designed email campaign templates, presentation templates, letterhead and print collateral.

while creating the animation to explain crowdfunding and how it works within the voordekunst platform, we designed a several maps of holland in the voordekunst house style to be used in the animation as well as across different media.

at the launch event last week in the Hirschgebouw, we saw all the pieces of the campaign come together. congratulations Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst, we’re proud to have taken part in such a great initiative.

we’ve been working with Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst on their new initiative voordekunst, a crowdfunding platform for the arts. mannschaft designed the identity, website, campaign, and an animation for the project.
